Anas itchtucknee es un pato extinto del Plioceno (~3 Ma) de Florida, EE. UU. Nombrado a partir de los depósitos del río Itchtucknee, fue un pato chapoteador de agua dulce de los antiguos humedales de Florida. Su descubrimiento documenta la fauna de aves acuáticas del Plioceno temprano de Florida en una época en que los niveles del mar eran más altos y los lagos interiores del estado eran más extensos y diversos.
Diet & Feeding
Anas itchtucknee was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
