<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="bathornis-minor"></dinofyi-dinosaur>Bathornis minor is an extinct small cariamiform bird from Eocene–Oligocene deposits of the United States. As the smallest known species of Bathornis, this carnivorous ground bird hunted insects and small vertebrates in open habitats. Multiple Bathornis species co-existed in North American Paleogene ecosystems, possibly occupying different prey-size niches.
Diet & Feeding
Bathornis minor was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
