Bathornis veredus is an extinct cariamiform bird from Eocene deposits of North America. This carnivorous cursorial bird is known from fragmentary limb material and represents a robust species within the genus. The name veredus refers to a swift horse, suggesting this bird was recognized as a fast runner that pursued prey across Paleogene plains.
