An extinct greenfinch-like bird from Spain, Chloris aurelioi belongs to the finch family Fringillidae. Known from Pleistocene or Neogene fossil material in the Iberian Peninsula, it provides data on the historical distribution and diversification of European granivorous passerine birds through changing Cenozoic climates.
