<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="alca-stewarti"></dinofyi-dinosaur>Alca stewarti is an extinct auk from the Pleistocene of California, USA. A Pacific alcid, its presence on the western North American coast is distinct from most Alca species that are Atlantic in distribution. Known from Pleistocene coastal deposits, it documents either a Pacific lineage or trans-Arctic dispersal of Alca auks during glacial periods.
Diet & Feeding
Alca stewarti was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
