Attagis gayi, the rufous-bellied seedsnipe, is a charadriiform bird from high Andean and Patagonian zones of South America including Chile. This carnivorous wader inhabits alpine grasslands and rocky terrain, feeding on seeds and plant material. Fossil material attributed to relatives of Attagis has been recovered from Patagonian deposits.
Diet & Feeding
Attagis gayi was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
