† Emeus crassus — the eastern moa, an extinct ratite from New Zealand's South Island. Among the smaller moa species; herbivorous browser of low-growing plants. Standing ~1.5 m tall, it weighed approximately 75 kg. Became extinct by the 15th century due to Polynesian overhunting.
Diet & Feeding
Emeus crassus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
