† Eocolius walkeri — an Eocene mousebird (Coliiformes) of uncertain geographic origin. Named after paleornithologist Cyril Walker. Small frugivorous avian; represents the diverse Eocene mousebird radiation when Coliiformes had a much broader distribution than the modern sub-Saharan African range.
Diet & Feeding
Eocolius walkeri was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
