† Fregilupus varius — the Rodrigues starling or Reunion starling, an extinct Mascarene island bird. Medium-sized omnivore from Réunion Island; related to mainland African starlings (Sturnidae). Last observed ~1850 CE; extinct due to habitat destruction and introduced predators on this Indian Ocean.
