Nautilornis avus is an extinct Eocene shorebird or wader from North America. Known from fragmentary material from the Green River Formation, it documents the early Cenozoic radiation of charadriiform birds in North America.
Diet & Feeding
Nautilornis avus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
