† Palaeotis weigelti was a large flightless bird (Palaeotididae) from the Eocene of Germany. A herbivore estimated at 80–100 cm tall, it inhabited early Cenozoic European forests. Related to ratites, it represents an early divergence of flightless paleognath lineages in Europe.
Diet & Feeding
Palaeotis weigelti was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
