Australlus gagensis is an extinct rail from Pleistocene–Holocene deposits of Queensland, Australia. This small carnivorous rallid is known from fossil bones recovered from cave deposits and represents part of the diverse Australian island and continental rail fauna that underwent substantial extinction during the Late Quaternary.
Diet & Feeding
Australlus gagensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
