Bambusicola

Bambusicola

Bambusicola is a genus of partridge-like phasianid birds with fossil records from China. These small omnivorous or herbivorous galliform birds inhabit bamboo thickets and dense undergrowth in East and Southeast Asia. Fossil bambusicola material contributes to understanding the Neogene diversification of pheasant-relatives in the Palearctic region.
