A fossil long-tailed duck genus from Hungary, Clangula is related to the living long-tailed duck (Clangula hyemalis) of the Northern Hemisphere. Fossil specimens from Hungarian Neogene or Pleistocene deposits document the presence of diving ducks in Central European freshwater and coastal environments through geological time.
Diet & Feeding
Clangula was a plant-eating dinosaur. Herbivores typically fed on ferns, cycads, conifers, and other vegetation available during their era. Many herbivorous dinosaurs developed specialized teeth and digestive systems for processing tough plant material.
