† Eocypselus rowei — an extinct Eocene swift relative from North America's Green River Formation. Slender-winged insectivore; morphological analysis places it as transitional between modern swifts (Apodidae) and hummingbirds (Trochilidae). Exceptionally preserved specimens provide feather and soft.

Eocypselus rowei was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
