Menura tyawanoides was an extinct lyrebird from Pleistocene Australia. Related to the spectacular modern Superb and Albert's Lyrebirds, this Pleistocene species documents the ancient history of lyrebirds on the Australian continent and their persistence through Quaternary climate fluctuations.
