Nesotrochis steganinos is an extinct large flightless rail from Haiti. Like other Caribbean rails, it evolved flightlessness on an island free of terrestrial predators and was subsequently driven to extinction by human hunting.

Nesotrochis steganinos was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
