†Andrewsornis was a phorusrhacid terror bird from the Eocene of Argentina, representing an early member of the cursorial carnivore lineage. A flightless, ground-dwelling predator, it possessed a large raptorial beak adapted for seizing prey. Its discovery contributed to understanding the early diversification of phorusrhacids following the end-Cretaceous extinction.
