† Eopelecanus aegyptiacus — an extinct Eocene pelican from Egypt. Large piscivorous waterbird; among the oldest known pelicans in the fossil record. Demonstrates that Pelecanidae reached Africa during the Eocene. Known from fragmentary cranial and postcranial material.
