† Fulica rufifrons — the red-fronted coot of Argentina and Chile, a living Rallidae. Aquatic herbivore-omnivore with a distinctive red frontal shield. Fossil specimens from Argentine Pleistocene deposits record the long-term presence of this species in southern South America.
Diet & Feeding
Fulica rufifrons was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
