† Inguza predemersus — an extinct diving duck or duck-like bird from South Africa. Herbivore-omnivore in aquatic environments. 'Pre-diving Inguza' named for the Zulu word for diving. Contributes to the African fossil duck record which is poorly known compared to the Northern Hemisphere avian fossi.

Inguza predemersus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
