<dinofyi-dinosaur slug="aramus"></dinofyi-dinosaur>†Aramus is the genus containing the living Limpkin (Aramus guarauna) and extinct fossil relatives from North and South America. A carnivore-omnivore specialising in freshwater apple snails, the Limpkin uses its slightly curved, asymmetrical bill tip to extract snails from their shells. Fossil Aramus species document the former wider distribution of this lineage across the Americas.
Diet & Feeding
Aramus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
