Asio ecuadoriensis is a fossil owl known from Pleistocene deposits in Ecuador. A carnivorous strigiform of uncertain size, it is recognized from fragmentary limb bones and represents part of the diverse South American Quaternary avifauna that inhabited Andean forest environments before the end of the Ice Age.
Diet & Feeding
Asio ecuadoriensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
