A fossil diving bird from the United States, Colymbus subparvus ('slightly small') is a grebe or loon-like carnivorous waterbird from North American Cenozoic strata. Its remains contribute to the record of diving birds in Paleogene or Neogene North American aquatic ecosystems and document species-level diversity within the colymbus-grade diving bird assemblage.
