Its name means 'swift powerful wing,' reflecting an inferred fast-flying, aerial predator lifestyle. A carnivore hunting small birds and mammals, it inhabited the warm subtropical forests of Palaeogene Europe. The discovery of this taxon contributes to understanding the early Palaeogene radiation of diurnal raptors following the end-Cretaceous extinction event.
Diet & Feeding
Dynamopterus velox was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
