† Empheresula arvernensis — an extinct Eocene bird from France. Named for the Auvergne region (Arverni). Small carnivorous bird; affinities uncertain. Known from fragmentary specimens recovered from Quercy phosphorites, a rich Paleogene avian fossil locality.
Diet & Feeding
Empheresula arvernensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
