† Ephippiorhynchus tchoufour — an extinct large stork relative from Pliocene or Pleistocene deposits of Chad. The saddle-billed stork genus has a long fossil history in Africa. This species represents a Neogene African stork; likely a piscivore and carnivore like its extant relative E. senegalensis.
Diet & Feeding
Ephippiorhynchus tchoufour was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
