Boutersemia parvula is an extinct small raptor from Oligocene or Miocene deposits of Belgium. The smallest species of its genus, this carnivorous bird is known from isolated bone fragments and highlights the diversity of small predatory birds in Paleogene European ecosystems. Its diminutive size suggests a diet of small vertebrates or large invertebrates.
Diet & Feeding
Boutersemia parvula was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
