Megapodius alimentum was an extinct megapode from Quaternary Tonga. Part of the widespread Polynesian megapode fauna, this flightless or weakly flying bird evolved in predator-free island conditions and was extirpated following Polynesian settlement of the Pacific islands.

Larus perpetuus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
