Diomedeoides

Diomedeoides

†Diomedeoides is an extinct genus of tube-nosed seabirds (Procellariiformes) from Oligocene–Miocene deposits of Germany. Placed in the extinct family Diomedeoididae, these carnivorous seabirds may represent stem procellariids or early diomedeids. Their European Paleogene record sheds light on the early diversification of albatrosses and petrels in ancient Tethyan seas.
