Alaripeda is an ichnotaxon — a dinosaur footprint trace fossil — from the Jurassic of Europe. These elongated, wing-shaped tracks have been attributed to various small theropod or avian dinosaurs. The name references the unusual wing-like impression morphology. Such trace fossils provide behavioral data on Jurassic dinosaurs beyond what is available from body fossils alone.
Diet & Feeding
Alaripeda was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
