Bashanosaurus primitivus

† Bashanosaurus primitivus was a Middle Jurassic sauropod from the Shaximiao Formation of Yunnan Province, China. This herbivore represents one of the earliest known sauropods from the Middle Jurassic of East Asia and provides important data on the diversification of sauropod dinosaurs prior to the classic Late Jurassic giant forms found in the Morrison and Tendaguru formations.
