An extinct species of seriema (Cariamiformes) from Argentina, Chunga incerta is related to the living black-legged seriema Chunga burmeisteri of South America. An omnivorous ground-dwelling bird, this taxon contributes to understanding the Cenozoic diversification of seriemas, a relict lineage of large cursorial birds in South America.
