A Pliocene crow from France, Corvus pliocaenus is one of the early documented members of the crow genus from European Neogene strata. An omnivorous corvid, its Pliocene French record contributes to understanding the evolutionary history of Corvus in western Europe during a critical period of faunal turnover preceding the Quaternary ice ages.
