† Inkayacu paracasensis — an Eocene giant penguin from Peru's Paracas region. Large flightless diving seabird (~1.5 m tall, ~55 kg). Preserved feather melanosomes indicate reddish-brown and grey plumage, unlike the black-and-white modern penguins. Piscivore. Named for 'water king' in Quechua.

Inkayacu paracasensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
