Megalapteryx didinus was the Upland Moa, a medium-sized moa from the mountainous South Island of New Zealand. Among the last moas to go extinct (~1450 CE), it is known from extraordinary specimens preserving skin, muscle, and feathers, living in subalpine terrain.
