Megapaloelodus gracilis was a slender, flamingo-like Miocene bird from North America, belonging to Phoenicopteridae or a closely related family. It inhabited alkaline lake shores, filter-feeding with a bent bill, part of the long Cenozoic flamingo radiation in North America.

Lithornithidae was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
