Necrobyas harpax is a Miocene owlet-nightjar from Belgium. These large fossil aegothelids from Europe document a formerly wider geographic range for the owlet-nightjar family, now restricted to Australasia and New Guinea.
Diet & Feeding
Necrobyas harpax was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
