Neophrontops americanus is an extinct accipitrid vulture from North American Pliocene and Pleistocene deposits. A small carrion-feeder, it may represent a Neogene invasion of North America by Old World vulture lineages.
Diet & Feeding
Neophrontops americanus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
