Nipponia nippon is the crested ibis (Threskiornithidae), a critically endangered East Asian bird with Quaternary fossil records from China. Once widespread across Japan and China, it was reduced to near-extinction in the 20th century.
Diet & Feeding
Nipponia nippon was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
