Ogygoptynx wetmorei is an extinct Paleocene owl (Strigiformes) from Colorado, USA. Among the oldest known owls, it documents the rapid post-Cretaceous diversification of raptorial birds after the K-Pg mass extinction event.
Diet & Feeding
Ogygoptynx wetmorei was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
