Olympidytes is an extinct diving bird from the Eocene of North America. Known from isolated tarsometatarsal material, it may be related to loons (Gaviiformes) or early grebes and documents Eocene freshwater diving bird diversity.
Diet & Feeding
Olympidytes was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
