Osteodontornis orri is the type species of this large Miocene bony-toothed bird from California. With an estimated wingspan of ~5 m, it was among the largest flying birds of the Neogene, soaring over warm Pacific waters.
Diet & Feeding
Osteodontornis orri was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
