Otus sauzieri is the Mascarene scops-owl from Mauritius, known from 18th-century accounts and subfossil bones. This island endemic strigid was extirpated by habitat destruction and introduced predators following European settlement.
Diet & Feeding
Otus sauzieri was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
