Pachyornis elephantopus is the elephant-footed moa, a large extinct ratite from New Zealand. One of the stoutest moas, with extremely robust bones, it browsed on low shrubs in open and forest habitats before Polynesian extinction.
Diet & Feeding
Pachyornis elephantopus was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
