† Palaeospheniscus biloculata was an extinct penguin (Sphenisciformes) from the Miocene of Argentina. A piscivorous seabird, it inhabited South Atlantic cold currents near Patagonia. Its distinctive skeletal anatomy provides important data for Cenozoic penguin phylogeny.
Diet & Feeding
Palaeospheniscus biloculata was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
