Spheniscus chilensis (Humboldt penguin) is a medium-sized penguin from the coasts of Chile and Peru. Known from fossil representatives as well, this species nests in burrows or rock crevices, feeding on small fish in the cold Humboldt Current.
Diet & Feeding
Spheniscus chilensis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
