Spizaetus grinnelli is an extinct hawk-eagle from Pleistocene deposits of Mexico, closely related to the living ornate hawk-eagle. Its fossils document the prehistoric presence of forest raptors in Mesoamerican glacial-era faunas.
Diet & Feeding
Spizaetus grinnelli was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
