Strix dakota is an extinct Pleistocene owl from the United States, closely related to the living barred owl or spotted owl. Its fossils document owl diversity on the Great Plains during glacial and interglacial periods of the Pleistocene.
Diet & Feeding
Strix dakota was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
