Thegornis debilis is an extinct scolopacid shorebird from the Oligocene of Argentina, among the oldest known South American shorebirds. Its fossils document the presence of wading birds adapted to coastal and freshwater environments in early Cenozoic South America.
Diet & Feeding
Thegornis debilis was a meat-eating predator. Carnivorous dinosaurs were active hunters or scavengers, equipped with sharp teeth and claws for catching and consuming prey. They occupied the top of the food chain in their ecosystems.
